KCCA FC unveils first new signing

KCCA FC have confirmed the signing of midfielder Elvis Ngonde, making him their first acquisition ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.

Ngonde joins the Kasasiro Boys as a free agent after seeing out his contract at SC Villa, where he spent the last three seasons following his move from Gaddafi FC, now known as Entebbe UPPC, at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

The midfielder, who earlier featured for Busoga United, made 17 league appearances for the Jogoos last season and scored once in a 2-1 victory over NEC FC.

His arrival comes at a crucial time for KCCA, who are set to lose midfielders Brian Ijara and Joel Sserunjogi, with the latter expected to complete a move to reigning league champions Vipers SC.

Ngonde’s signing marks the beginning of what is expected to be a busy transfer window for KCCA as the club seeks to rebuild after ending the 2025/26 season without silverware.

Ngonde developed through the ranks at St. Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende, where he excelled in the USSSA football competitions. He notably scored in the national schools’ final in Arua to help Kitende defeat St. Andrew Kaggwa.

In 2018, he earned a place in the Uganda U17 national team, the Uganda Cubs, but was ruled ineligible for the AFCON U17 qualifiers after failing an MRI age eligibility test.

The Lugogo-based side has not lifted the Uganda Premier League title since the 2018/19 campaign and is keen to strengthen its squad in a bid to return to the summit of Ugandan football.
