Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Disciplinary Panel has sanctioned SC Villa over hooliganism during their Uganda Premier League match against Vipers SC played at Kadiba on April 15, 2026.
The Jogoos were fined Shs1 million after their supporters threw bottles onto the field of play, causing a temporary delay of the match.
In a statement released by FUFA, the disciplinary panel found the club liable for the actions of its fans.
“The FUFA Disciplinary Panel found that the actions of SC Villa supporters amounted to acts of hooliganism in violation of Rule 48(9) of the FUFA Competitions Rules and Article 14(1) of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code.
“Under Article 14(8), clubs are responsible for the behaviour of their fans, Villa has been fined UGX 1,000,000 payable within 14 days and warned that any repeat offence will attract more severe sporting sanctions,” the statement read.
The league encounter ended in a 1-1 draw, with Vipers taking the lead through Hillary Mukundane before Frank Ssebuufu equalised for SC Villa.
This is not the first time Villa are facing disciplinary action over fan violence.
In November 2022, the record league champions were punished following hooliganism incidents during a Uganda Premier League match against Wakiso Giants.
On that occasion, the club was docked two points and ordered to host matches away from their traditional home ground, Wankulukuku, among other sanctions.
