Allan Okello’s impressive form continued with another emphatic display as Yanga SC cruised to a 3-0 victory over Coastal Union in the Tanzanian Premier League.
Okello scored twice and provided an assist in Saturday’s win at the KMC Complex.
The Ugandan midfielder needed just 18 minutes to break the deadlock, rifling home from a tight angle into the top corner after being picked out by Prince Dube.
He doubled Yanga’s advantage in the 62nd minute, chesting down a cross from Pacome Zouzoua before unleashing a stunning volley from the edge of the box into the top corner.
Okello then turned provider in the 75th minute, setting up Max Nzengeli for Yanga’s third goal of the afternoon.
The victory strengthened Yanga’s grip at the top of the table with 54 points, eight ahead of second-placed Simba SC, who still have a game in hand.
Okello has now taken his league tally to five goals and six assists in 16 matches since joining from Vipers SC.
