Women’s National Basketball League defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins defeated Victoria She Crocs 47–37 on Sunday at Lugogo.
The game was tied 6–6 after a low-scoring first quarter before JKL pulled away in the second to take a nine-point lead at halftime.
Victoria She Crocs reduced the deficit to seven points after the third quarter but couldn’t mount a comeback as JKL’s quality showed.
Tamasha Nsubuga scored a game-high 20 points, while Ritah Imanishimwe and Flavia Oketcho added seven points each in the win.
JKL once again started with only two players on the bench—Melinda Laker and Florence Ogundah—but Victoria She Crocs failed to capitalize on their deeper rotation, with none of their players reaching double figures.
Madalen Ayak led her side with eight points, while Viola Nakazibwe and Grant Generous added seven each, with the latter facing her former team.
Despite winning the rebounding battle 75–47, Victoria She Crocs were undone by poor shooting, making just one of their 27 attempts from three-point range.
The defeat marks their eighth loss in 12 games this season.
Meanwhile, JKL Lady Dolphins have now secured back-to-back wins since forfeiting a league fixture against KIU Rangers, having previously beaten Miracle Eaglets 79–61.
