AS FAR, Mamelodi Sundowns set for Champions League final showdown

•AS FAR Vs Mamelodi Sundowns – Rabat, 10pm

The 2025/26 CAF Champions League final will be decided on Sunday night when AS FAR host Mamelodi Sundowns at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Sundowns go into the second leg with a 1-0 advantage after last weekend’s first meeting in Pretoria, thanks to a free-kick from Aubrey Modiba.

The South African side, however, missed several chances to extend their lead in a game they would have won comfortably.

AS FAR remain confident of turning the tie around at home, where they have enjoyed strong results in continental competitions. They need at least one goal to level the aggregate score and push for the title.

They beat Pyramids (Egypt) and fellow Moroccan side RS Berkane at the Quarterfinals and Semifinals respectively to reach this stage.

Sundowns on the other hand, eliminated Stade Malien (Mali) and Esperance (Tunisia) to qualify for the final.

The winner of the final will take home a record USD 6 million prize and also qualify for the 2026 CAF Super Cup, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.

Sundowns are chasing a second continental title after winning in 2016 and are also looking to recover from last season’s final defeat.

AS FAR won the title in 1985, beating AS Dragons Bilima from DR Congo 6-3 on aggregate.
