Uganda Cup Semifinals: Vipers Vs Kitara, URA Vs SC Villa

The draw for the Uganda Cup semifinals has been conducted, setting up two big clashes for a place in the final.

Kitara FC will face defending champions Vipers SC, while SC Villa take on URA FC with ties to be decided over two legs.

In the first legs, Kitara will host Vipers, and URA will welcome SC Villa. The first-leg matches will be played between May 1 and 3, with the return legs scheduled for May 15 to 17, 2026.

To reach this stage, Vipers SC eliminated NEC FC on penalties, SC Villa knocked out Happy Boys Kagaba, URA FC edged KCCA FC on penalties, and Kitara FC overcame Express FC.

Vipers are the defending champions after beating KCCA FC 2-0 in last year’s final.

The Venoms will be seeking for revenge having been ousted by Kitara back in 2024 at the quarterfinals stage, in a season Kitara went on to win the title.

Kitara will be confident after playing out a goalless draw at Kitende in the league.

This is the latest installment in the rivalry sequel, with Vipers failing to honour their first round league clash against Kitara, a match that was won by Kitara by forfeiture.

SC Villa on the other hand, have won the Uganda Cup nine times, only beaten by KCCA and Express who have won it 10 times each.

But the Jogoos have not lifted the Uganda Cup since 2015 when they beat KCCA 3-0 in a replayed final at Namboole.
