Six Ugandan football fans have won all-expenses-paid trips to the United Kingdom to watch English Premier League matches live, courtesy of Guinness.
Brandon Semanda, Stephen Paul Anyaja, Bob Emmanuel Otim, Mark Buyondo, Tucker Kibirige and Malaika Nyanzi were named winners during the Guinness Matchday watch party held on Sunday, October 11, at UICT Grounds in Nakawa. Each winner will travel with a companion for the experience.
The six emerged victorious after a competitive quiz on the Premier League and Guinness, hosted by international sports commentator Andrew Kabura.
The competition featured two rounds, with the preliminary stage held at half-time during the Liverpool versus Manchester City match screened at the venue. Eight contestants progressed to the knockout stage after the game, where six secured the ultimate prize.
Malaika Nyanzi, the only female winner, expressed excitement after securing her place on the trip.

“Wow! Just wow!” she said. “I had simply come to watch the games, but when the opportunity to win a ticket to the Premier League was announced, I decided to give it a shot. I never imagined I would walk away a winner. I’m really looking forward to the experience in the UK.”
The handover ceremony was attended by United Kingdom High Commissioner to Uganda Lisa Chesney and Uganda Breweries Limited Managing Director Felicite Nson, alongside other company executives.
Denise Nazzinda, Senior Brand Manager at Uganda Breweries Limited, said the initiative was part of Guinness’ efforts to reward football fans for their passion and loyalty.
“These fans have followed the Premier League passionately for years. Through Guinness Matchday, we want to reward that loyalty by giving fans the chance to win tickets to watch the action live in the UK,” Nazzinda said.
“It is our way of giving back to the fans who bring so much passion to the game and making their love for football count for something EXTRA.”

Nazzinda added that four more tickets would be available at the next Guinness Matchday watch party, scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026, at The Villa in Bukoto.
The Nakawa event attracted several prominent figures from Uganda’s sporting scene, including former Uganda Cranes players Emmanuel Okwi and Hassan Wasswa. Local musicians Lil Pazo and Kalifah Aganaga also entertained the fans with live performances.
Guinness, the Official Beer of the Premier League, continues to engage Ugandan football fans through its Guinness Matchday watch parties and Guinness Matchday on Tour activations.
The initiative is anchored in the brand’s Lovely Day for a Guinness campaign, with We Are Extra serving as its football expression, bringing fans together through shared matchday experiences.
