Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have confirmed the return of striker Charles Lwanga ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Lwanga rejoins the Lugogo-based club as a free agent after the expiry of his contract with SC Villa.
The forward previously featured for KCCA between 2020 and 2023 after joining from Express FC before making the switch to SC Villa in 2023.
During his first spell at KCCA, Lwanga scored 17 goals in three seasons, with his most productive campaign coming in the 2020/21 season when he found the net 11 times.
At SC Villa, Lwanga enjoyed a strong 2024/25 campaign, scoring 11 league goals. However, he fell down the pecking order following the arrival of head coach Zeljko Kovacevic, making just 11 Uganda Premier League appearances last season.
Despite his limited game time, the striker still managed to score six league goals before leaving Villa at the end of his contract.
Lwanga becomes KCCA’s second signing of the current transfer window after the club unveiled Elvis Ngonde, who also joined from SC Villa.
The Kasasiro Boys have also appointed Brian Ssenyondo as their new head coach after he served alongside Jackson Magera as co-coach last season.
In addition, centre-back Hassan Muhamud has signed a contract extension as KCCA continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new campaign.
