City Oilers will be chasing a season double over Victoria Crocs when the two sides face off tonight in the National Basketball League at Abja Park in Naalya.
The Oilers beat the Crocs 85–60 in their first-round meeting last month at Lugogo.
Fayed Bbaale (16), Joel Lukoji (12), and Malual Dier (11) all scored in double digits for the Oilers, who were narrowly edged 56–57 on rebounds.
The Oilers have strengthened their squad with foreign-based duo Patrick Rembert and Jonathan Komagum during the ongoing mid-season transfer window, with Komagum already in the country.
They head into this game on the back of two wins to start the second round, having beaten KCCA Panthers and Rezlife Saints.
The victory over Rezlife helped set the record straight after the Lubowa-based side defeated them in the first round.
Victoria Crocs, meanwhile, come into the fixture off a 68–62 win over the weekend, a result that ended their four-game winless run.
Mark Ngobi led the way with a game-high 25 points, while Chuol Nyuot recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
That victory marked the Crocs’ sixth of the season, boosting their chances of avoiding relegation.
However, more work remains, and coach Roger Sserunyigo will be keen to keep the momentum going, but a result against the 10-time winners is a big ask for now.
