Semifinals:
•KCCA Vs Prisons
•NIC Vs Police
Prisons Netball Club delivered a dominant double victory at the East African Netball Club Championship on Thursday, beating rivals NIC 45-41 before crushing Kenya’s Red Perils 77-22 to finish top of Pool A.
The clash against NIC was the standout fixture of the day, ending a three-year wait for Prisons to beat the bankers.
Prisons Queens started brightly, taking a 15-9 lead after the first quarter through sharp movement, quick passing, and aggressive defending.
NIC responded strongly in the second quarter, increasing physical pressure and narrowing the gap, but Prisons stayed disciplined to go into halftime leading 22-19.

The third quarter remained tightly contested, with both sides trading turnovers and goals, but Prisons still held a 34-29 advantage heading into the final period.
In the last quarter, NIC pushed hard in search of a comeback, but Prisons showed composure under pressure, using tight defence and accurate finishing to close out a hard-fought 45-41 win.
Aisha Nakuya was influential in attack with her creativity and link-up play, combining well with shooter Christine Namulumba Kango, who remained clinical in front of goal. Wing Attack Joan Reykoboth provided energy and control in transition, helping Prisons maintain rhythm throughout the match.

In defence, Carol Abalo, Malisera Akello, and Evelyn Ayitasi worked tirelessly, making key interceptions and limiting NIC’s attacking flow at crucial moments.
Prisons later returned to court in the evening and produced a one-sided performance against Kenya’s Red Perils, winning 77-22. From the opening whistle, the Queens dominated every quarter, using pace, strong defensive pressure, and quick ball movement to overwhelm their opponents.
Red Perils struggled to cope with the intensity as Prisons stretched their lead steadily and never allowed any recovery.
The two victories ensured Prisons finished top of Pool A, booking a semi-final place in commanding fashion and sending a strong warning to the rest of the competition.

It’s an all Uganda semifinals, Prisons face KCCA while NIC will take on Uganda Police.
