Kigezi Homeboyz part ways with coach Joseph Mutyaba

Kigezi Homeboyz have parted ways with head coach Joseph Harold Mutyaba following the club’s poor start to their debut season in the Uganda Premier League.

The decision was reached by mutual agreement after discussions between the two parties, according to the club.

“ Kigezi HomeBoyz Football Club can confirm that the club and Head Coach Joseph Harold Mutyaba mutually agreed to part ways following discussions between both parties,” the club stated.

Mutyaba leaves after Kigezi Homeboyz suffered a 1-0 defeat to Kitara on Wednesday at Hoima City Stadium, with Edward Namasa scoring the only goal.

The newcomers have collected just one point from four matches, earned in a goalless draw against KCCA FC on September 8 at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge.

They opened their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Lugazi, with Mike Walaga scoring their only goal of the season so far, before losing 3-0 to SC Villa at Wankulukuku.

Their fixture against defending champions Vipers was postponed.

Mutyaba’s former assistant Kefa Kisala has been promoted to head coach and will take charge of the team going forward.

Kisala’s first assignments will be home fixtures against NEC on October 14 and Entebbe UPPC on October 22 as Kigezi Homeboyz seek their first league victory.
