NBl Finals: Nam Blazers level series

Namuwongo Blazers levelled the National Basketball League Finals series at 2-2 after beating City Oilers 74-70 in Game Four on Friday at Lugogo.

The Blazers, who won Game One, slipped to a 2-1 deficit after the Oilers claimed Games Two and Three.

Namuwongo, the defending champions, started brightly, taking a 23-13 lead after the first quarter. Oilers responded by winning the second quarter 19-15 to cut the deficit, and they moved within a point by the end of the third quarter.

The contest remained tight in the final quarter, with the lead changing hands several times before the Blazers held on to secure the crucial victory.

Anthony Chuckwurah posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Jimmy Enabu and James Okello added 15 and 12 points respectively.

Patrick Rembert led City Oilers with 19 points, while Fayed Baale and Joel Lukoji contributed 11 points apiece.

The Oilers edged the rebounding battle 48-45 but struggled from beyond the arc, making just three of 16 three-point attempts. They also committed 24 turnovers.

The best-of-seven series is now tied 2-2, with Game Five scheduled for Sunday.
