NBL Finals: Nam Blazers Seek Revival in Game Four

Friday, August 14
•KCCA Vs UCU Lady Canons – 7pm
•City Oilers Vs Nam Blazers – 9pm

Namuwongo Blazers will be seeking to bounce back when they take on City Oilers in Game Four of the National Basketball League Finals on Friday at Lugogo.

The Blazers won Game One but have since lost two consecutive games to trail 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

They suffered a 72-76 defeat on Sunday in a chaotic contest that went into overtime following late drama.

The Oilers appeared to have secured a lifeline when Patrick Rembert was awarded three free throws after being judged to have been fouled while attempting a buzzer-beater. However, the referees overturned the decision, ruling that time had expired before the shot was taken, forcing the game into overtime.

Oilers nevertheless held their nerve in the extra period to claim the win.

Nyembo Fataki carried much of the Blazers’ offensive burden, scoring a game-high 28 points in the losing effort.

Tonny Drilleba will also be expected to step up after failing to score in Game Two and managing just three points in Game Three.

Kevin Nyameck, James Okello and Innocent Ochera are among the other Blazers players who struggled to make an impact in Game Three.

For the Oilers, Rembert finished with 22 points, while Jonathan Komagum contributed six points and 13 rebounds in the victory.
