NEC FC will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Uganda Premier League newcomers Ntugasaze FC at Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Tuesday.
The Diehards suffered their first defeat of the 2026/27 season last time out, losing 2-1 to BUL FC in Njeru despite Marvin Oshaba finding the net.
They will now seek an immediate response against a Ntugasaze side struggling near the bottom of the table, with victory offering NEC an opportunity to close the gap on league leaders BUL FC.
NEC sit third with 14 points from seven matches, having recorded four wins, two draws and one defeat. They have scored 12 goals and conceded four, making them one of the league’s strongest defensive sides so far.

Their visitors, meanwhile, occupy 16th position with three points from six games. Ntugasaze have won once and lost five times, scoring three goals while conceding 13.
Their only victory came on October 7, when they edged Mbarara City 1-0. They did not feature on the previous matchday after their fixture against Kitara FC was postponed due to Kitara’s CAF Confederation Cup commitments.
The Brewers will be hoping to build on that solitary win as they seek to climb out of the relegation zone. However, they face a difficult task against a NEC side eager to recover from their setback and maintain their challenge for the title.
Tuesday’s encounter will be the first-ever league meeting between the two clubs, adding another dimension to the contest as they pursue different objectives.
NEC will be without defender Warren Buule, who remains sidelined with an injury. Mustafa Mujuzi has returned to light training but is not yet ready to feature as he continues his recovery.
