NEC FC will be targeting the top spot in the Uganda Premier League when they visit Blacks Power at Bukedea Comprehensive School on Saturday.
The Diehards head into the Matchday 9 encounter in good form following a 5-1 victory over Ntugasaze FC at Lugogo in their previous outing.
NEC sit third on the table with 17 points from eight matches, having scored 17 goals and conceded just five.
Victory in Bukedea would take them to the top of the standings, depending on results elsewhere.
However, they face a Blacks Power side that held SC Villa to a goalless draw at Wankulukuku last time out.
The hosts are seventh with 13 points from eight matches, having scored nine goals and conceded 11.
Blacks Power on the other hand, are seventh on the table with 13 points.
NEC will be without injured defender Warren Buule and midfielder Pius Obuya, while Mustafa Mujuzi remains unavailable as he continues his recovery despite returning to light training.
The hosts on the other hand, will continue to miss Defender Ivan Okello who is expected to miss the rest of the season after a career threatening injury against URA FC.
The encounter will be the first meeting between the two sides in the Uganda Premier League. However, Blacks Power eliminated NEC from the 2025 Uganda Cup with a 2-0 victory in the Round of 32.
NEC will therefore be seeking revenge while keeping their title ambitions on track.
