Uganda Cranes trio David Lukwago, Frank Ssebuufu and Geoffrey Lubangakene are set to join the SC Villa squad today ahead of their Uganda Premier League clash against Kataka FC in Bukedea.
The trio returned to Uganda on Tuesday with the Cranes from South Africa, where Uganda played two international friendly matches against DR Congo.
Lukwago did not feature in any of the matches during the international break, including the AFCON qualifiers against Libya and Tunisia, and will therefore have to wait for his senior international debut.
However, training and travelling alongside experienced players such as Cranes captain Denis Onyango will provide valuable experience for the young goalkeeper.
The three players are expected to join the Villa camp in Mbale before the team travels to Bukedea for the match.
Villa will be without Reagan Mpande, who did not travel with the squad, while Najib Yiga and Isaac Mpagi return after recovering from injury and serving a suspension respectively.
After opening their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Kitara FC at Wankulukuku, the Jogoos have responded with three consecutive victories over URA FC, Express FC and Kigezi Homeboys.
Kataka, meanwhile, have collected just one point from their opening three matches. They drew with UPDF before suffering defeats to BUL FC and KCCA FC.
