Sommet squandered a healthy lead to suffer a 67-54 defeat to the UCU Canons in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Sommet got off to an explosive start, taking the opening quarter 18-15 before extending their advantage to 32-17 at halftime.
Trailing by 15 points, UCU responded with a 12-point run in the third quarter to cut the deficit to just three points before another 14-point run in the fourth quarter handed them a commanding lead they never relinquished.
Marvin Jesse Okurut scored 14 points, while Jimmy Otim added 12. Zachariah Ekirapa and Flore Dushime chipped in with 11 points apiece in the victory.
For Sommet, Brighton Galiwango and John Focus Teko scored 13 and 12 points respectively, but received little support from the rest of the team. Darren Ainembabazi made his debut, finishing with five points and five rebounds.
Sommet endured a poor shooting night, missing 22 of their 27 attempts from beyond the arc, and were also outrebounded 56-39.
UCU completed a season double over Sommet, having edged them 67-66 in the first round.
The victory moves UCU to nine wins in 17 games, while Sommet suffered their eighth defeat in 16 matches this season.
