Nicholas Kasozi returns to Uganda Premier League

Kitara FC have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Nicholas Kasozi on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Kasozi joins the Royals as a free agent after leaving Tanzanian Premier League side Kagera Sugar FC, reuniting with head coach Wasswa Bbosa, who previously coached him.

The midfielder expressed his excitement after sealing the move, saying he is looking forward to returning to the Uganda Premier League and working with Bbosa again.

“I’m delighted that I’m going to be playing in the Uganda Premier League again, and for Kitara Football Club. I’ve worked with coach Wasswa Bbosa before and he is one of the coaches that helped me grow my career, so I hope our reunion will be a great one. At Kitara, I bring healthy competition and character to the team, and I believe we shall succeed together,” Kasozi said.

Kasozi returns to Uganda after a spell in Tanzania and brings vast top-flight experience, having previously featured for SC Villa, KCCA FC, Express FC and Kyetume FC. He began his senior career at Synergy FC before earning a move to SC Villa in 2017.

Known for his defensive discipline, passing range and ability to control the tempo in midfield, Kasozi is expected to add experience and depth to Kitara’s squad.

His arrival strengthens Bbosa’s options as Kitara prepare for a busy campaign that includes the Uganda Premier League, FUFA Super 8, Uganda Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup.
