Netball Super League Dates Set

Netball Uganda has confirmed that the 2026 Netball Super League will get underway on May 26.

This, is the same date that the Second Division, and Men’s Super Division will also kick off.

The decision was reached during a meeting at the federation headquarters in Lugogo, Kampala on Monday, where key preparations for the new season were approved.

Clubs have until May 7 to complete player registration, with the federation ruling that no player will be allowed to feature in more than one division during the same season.

Ten venues have been proposed to host matches, including Busia Greater Lions, UCU, Buddo Secondary School, UPDF, KCCA, Weyonje, Police, and Kiboga, pending final inspection and approval.

On club fees, Super League teams will pay one million shillings, while Second Division sides will pay 700,000 shillings, with at least 50 percent required before the season starts.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Netball Club won the title last season after beating Prisons Netball Club 44-41 in a decisive finale.

That, was the club’s maiden title, and the same can be said of Veteran Coach Fred Mugerwa after seasons of near-misses.
