Uganda’s young table tennis stars Judith Anyango and Joseph Sebatindira have started their campaign at the WTT Youth Contender Helsingborg 2026 in Sweden.
The prestigious tournament, running from June 4th to 7th at Helsingborg Arena, has attracted some of the best emerging players from around the world, offering the Ugandan pair a chance to test themselves against elite international competition.
Anyango will compete in Group Two of the Under-13 Girls’ Singles and Group Three of the Under-15 Girls’ Singles. Sebatindira has been drawn in Group One of the Under-13 Boys’ Singles and Group Five of the Under-15 Boys’ Singles.
The duo opened their participation in the Under-15 Mixed Doubles event, where they faced Swedish pair Alicia Enbom and Erik Kogerfelt in the Round of 32.
Their presence at the global event highlights the progress of youth table tennis in Uganda, with clubs such as Nakasero Table Tennis Club continuing to nurture young talent through structured training and competitive exposure.
