The Mwiri League Season 6 grand finale, powered by Guinness, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Ruck Yard in Jinja City.
The season-ending event will run under a retro theme and is expected to deliver a full day of football, entertainment, and alumni networking as Busoga College Mwiri graduates gather to close another edition of the popular competition.
This year’s finale will introduce a new format featuring two separate knockout competitions involving all 16 teams. The top eight teams on the table will contest the Shield title, while the bottom eight will compete for the Plate trophy.
Mwiri League Chairman Shadrack Olinga confirmed that preparations are complete.
“Everything is set and we are good to go. We have worked tirelessly with our partners and organising team to ensure a memorable finale. I want to invite all Busoga College Mwiri alumni, football lovers, and supporters of the Mwiri League to come and be part of this special occasion as we celebrate another successful season,” Olinga said.
Guinness, the headline sponsor, said it remains committed to enhancing the matchday experience and strengthening community ties through football.
“First, we would like to congratulate the Mwiri League for successfully completing Season 6. Guinness is proud to have walked this journey with them. The league has created a unique platform that promotes friendship, networking, healthy competition, and community among alumni. For the finale, we shall elevate the experience with the bold Guinness spirit that brings excitement and great vibes. Our products will be available at affordable prices so everyone enjoys the day,” the sponsor representative said.
Off the pitch, fans will be entertained by performances from singer Lillian Mbabazi and the Sundowners Band, alongside sets from leading DJs from Kampala and Jinja.
The event will also include a corporate social responsibility activity, where Mwiri alumni will visit Jinja Regional Referral Hospital and donate a medicine storage machine to support healthcare services.
The finale is supported by partners including SafeBoda, Kenbright, Jonakee Holdings, Tents4U, and National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA).
