BUL Maintain Perfect Start

BUL FC maintained their perfect start to the Uganda Premier League season with a 2-1 victory over Blacks Power on Tuesday at Njeru.

The encounter pitted two teams with 100% records, both having won their opening three matches of the season.

However, it was the hosts who kept their unbeaten run intact despite Blacks Power taking an early lead through Oscar Otim.

Otim raced onto a pass from Mike Siu before brilliantly slotting the ball through goalkeeper Braddy Jeans Wokorach’s legs to give Blacks Power the lead after 20 minutes.

BUL responded through new signing Lawrence Olaboro, who joined from Calvary, as he converted Derrick Byabachwezi’s assist in the 38th minute to level the score.

Simon Achidi then put BUL ahead 10 minutes into the second half, firing home from close range as the hosts held on for all three points.

Blacks Power came close to restoring parity, with Siu’s quick turn and shot narrowly missing the target.

The victory gives BUL four wins from four matches and 12 points, following earlier victories over Express, Kataka and Ntugasaze.

Blacks Power, who drop to fourth, suffered their first defeat of the season after previously beating Ntugasaze, Police and Maroons.
