Vipers SC have been drawn against regional heavyweights APR FC and Gor Mahia in the group stage of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup.
The draw was conducted on Friday at Amahoro National Stadium in Kigali ahead of the tournament, which will run from July 24 to August 7.
The Ugandan champions have been placed in Group A alongside Rwanda’s APR FC, Kenya’s Gor Mahia and Djibouti’s Garde Républicaine.
APR head into the tournament as Rwanda’s reigning champions after winning the 2025/26 BK Pro League title, extending their record to 24 league crowns and securing a seventh successive championship.
Gor Mahia also arrive as national champions, having lifted the 2025/26 FKF Premier League title for a record 22nd time.
Garde Républicaine, meanwhile, finished seventh in the recently concluded Djibouti Premier League.
The tournament will be played in a three-group format, with the winners of each group advancing directly to the semi-finals. They will be joined by the best-performing second-placed team to complete the last four.
