Tanzania Premier League side Azam FC have officially unveiled Ugandan forward Hassan Mubiru after completing his transfer from SC Villa.
The move was confirmed on Monday, with Mubiru signing a two-year contract despite having one year remaining on the three-year deal he signed when he joined SC Villa in 2024.
Mubiru enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 Uganda Premier League campaign, scoring four goals and providing three assists to emerge as one of SC Villa’s standout performers.
His departure makes him the fifth player to leave the Jogoos during the current transfer window, following Charles Lwanga (KCCA FC), Missi Ssemugera (Kitara FC), Elvis Ngonde (KCCA FC) and goalkeeper Norman Angufindru.
SC Villa have responded by strengthening their squad with the arrivals of Isaac Gumperom, John Asiimwe and Steven Mugisha, while Denis Ojara has signed a contract extension.
The forward first came into the spotlight after helping the Uganda Cubs win the 2019 CECAFA U-17 Championship. He has previously featured for Express FC and KCCA FC before joining SC Villa.
Mubiru becomes one of several new additions at Azam FC, alongside Junior Kipre, Henri Stanic, Henock Moliaz Lupini Dieumerci and John Mano.
Azam finished third in the 2025/26 Tanzania Premier League with 64 points, behind Simba SC (73) and champions Young Africans (75).
