KCCA FC have completed the signing of defender Maxwell Owachgiu on a two-year contract ahead of the new season.
Owachgiu joins the Cityzens from Buhimba United Saints FC, where he featured during the 2025/26 season.
The defender previously captained Kitara FC to the 2024 Uganda Cup title and helped the club compete in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers.

The move reunites Owachgiu with KCCA FC head coach Brian Ssenyondo, who worked with him during their time at Kitara FC.
Ssenyondo welcomed the signing, describing Owachgiu as a disciplined defender with strong leadership qualities.
“Maxwell is a player whose work ethic and discipline I know inside out. He brings so much to this side, including leadership qualities. Signing him on a two-year deal guarantees us a proven winner who understands the pressure of competing at the highest level in Ugandan football,” Ssenyondo said.

Speaking after completing the move, Owachgiu said joining KCCA FC marks a major step in his career.
“Joining KCCA FC is a huge step in my career, and it is an honor to wear this shirt. I have played against this club many times, and I know the standards of excellence the fans demand,” said the defender.
“Reuniting with some players I have played with before, as well as Coach Brian, is fantastic. I am here to work hard, defend the badge, and win with my mates.”
The defender has already linked up with the KCCA FC squad for pre-season training ahead of the new campaign.
