KCCA FC will resume hosting night matches at Omondi Stadium in Lugogo following an upgrade of the venue’s floodlighting system, the club has announced.
The stadium was initially not cleared by the FUFA Club Licensing Committee to host night games at the start of the season, forcing KCCA to play their home matches in the afternoon.
Both of the club’s home fixtures so far this season, against NEC FC and Kataka FC, kicked off at 4pm.
In a statement, KCCA revealed that the lighting capacity has been increased from 503 to a minimum of 1,020 lux, meeting the required FUFA standards.
The upgrade is also expected to improve television broadcast quality and position MTN Omondi Stadium to host high-profile domestic and international matches.
KCCA’s next home match is scheduled for October 22 against UPDF FC, subject to FUFA clearance of the upgraded floodlighting system.
However, before that fixture, the Kasasiro Boys will return to action after the international break with away matches against URA FC and Ntugasaze FC.
Coached by Brian Ssenyondo, KCCA are currently 10th on the Uganda Premier League table with four points.
