SC Rwizi are the Chaapa League Season 11 champions after defeating CF BURDIZO 1-0 in the Guinness-powered final in Mbarara.

Salim scored the decisive goal to secure the title for Rwizi, who completed a strong run through the knockout stages to lift the trophy.

Rwizi began their campaign with a 2-0 quarter-final victory over Dingiswayo, with Atamba and Kante scoring, before overcoming Chogm by the same margin in the semi-finals. Salim and Atamba were on target to send them into the final.

BURDIZO also enjoyed an impressive run, beating Rugabo 1-0 in the quarter-finals through Rembo’s goal before defeating Bulls Old Timers 2-0 in the semi-finals. Rembo scored again, while Kluivert added the second to secure their place in the championship match.

However, Salim’s goal proved decisive in the final as Rwizi edged a closely contested encounter to claim the Season 11 crown.

The Guinness-powered finale brought together the Chaapa League community in Mbarara for a day of competitive football and fan activities.

“Football has a special way of bringing people together, and that is what makes the Chaapa League such an exciting platform,” said Denise Nazzinda, Senior Brand Manager at Uganda Breweries Limited.

Nazzinda said Guinness was proud to have supported the season and celebrated with the players and fans, adding that the brand looked forward to the next edition.

The focus now shifts to Season 12 of the Chaapa League, which is scheduled to return early next year.
