Police FC coach Matia Lule has hailed his team’s progress despite their goalless draw against UPDF FC in a Uganda Premier League fixture played on Thursday at Kira Road Playground in Kamwokya.
In a game where clear chances were few and far between, neither side managed to find a breakthrough, making a goalless draw a fair reflection of the contest.
The result leaves Police with four points from their opening three games, having beaten Mbarara City before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Blacks Power.
Lule said: “We haven’t managed to win today, but there is an improvement in how we played compared to our last match, which we lost against Blacks Power.
“I am pleased with the performance, and there are things we have rectified. The only thing missing was the goal.”
“There is no pressure. It is only that this team hasn’t played at the level I want them to play at.”
Lule handed a debut to new signing Samuel Ssekamatte, but the former NEC FC forward was unable to influence the game as he would have hoped.
UPDF, meanwhile, moved to two points after their second draw in three matches. They had earlier played out a goalless draw against Kataka before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Entebbe UPPC.
Police will visit Lugazi on September 16, while UPDF will host Maroons on September 17 in Matchweek Four.
