Mwiri League: Cricket, Spice Diana headline Matchday 4

Fans are set for an exciting mix of sport, music and lifestyle this Saturday, April 25, as Matchday 4 of the Guinness-powered Mwiri League returns to Legends Grounds, Lugogo, with cricket taking the spotlight alongside an Afropiano-themed entertainment experience.

This round of the league will focus on cricket, a sport that remains a key part of the legacy of Busoga College Mwiri, one of Uganda’s most respected cricket schools.

Old boys will return to the crease to renew rivalries and display their batting and bowling skills in what promises to be a thrilling day of action.

Defending champions Buliti Cohort, winners of last season’s cricket competition, will be among the hosts alongside Ruga Ruga, Lukambwe and Vuyos United.

Supporters should expect competitive clashes as Kombora, Suici, Vuyos, Makaya, Kanga, Shadow, Destroyers, Lukambwe, Winter and Divers battle for top honors.

Away from the field, the “Afropiano Vibes” theme will deliver a lively entertainment package filled with music, dance and celebration.

Ugandan singer Spice Diana will headline the performances with crowd favorites such as Siri Regular, Onsanula and Kwata Wano.

The event will be hosted by Olga Dax together with veteran hype man and Busoga College Mwiri old boy MC Kats, who is expected to keep the crowd fully engaged.

Speaking ahead of the event, Guinness Brand Manager Denise Nazzinda said the brand is committed to creating memorable experiences by combining sport, culture and premium lifestyle moments through the Mwiri League.

“The return of the Mwiri League has once again created a unique platform for connection, celebration and unforgettable experiences,” Nazzinda said.

“At Guinness, we are proud to be part of this journey, bringing together sport, entertainment and lifestyle in a way that resonates with our consumers.

“I believe Matchday 4 will be bigger and better as we continue to elevate the festivities and create memorable moments for everyone attending.”

Organizers also confirmed that football will be part of the day’s program, although cricket and entertainment will remain the main highlights.
