Uganda’s representatives at the Men’s Africa Club Volleyball Championship, Nemostars and Sport-S, hope to extend their perfect start as they return to action on Friday.
Nemostars will take on Nigeria Customs in Group A, followed by Sport-S facing Kepler of Rwanda, with both games taking place at Petit Stadium.
Sport-S, competing at this stage for the first time, impressed with a 3-1 win over Kenya’s Equity Bank on Thursday.

The debutants had to recover from a set down after the Kenyan side took set one 25-15, mounting a challenge to win the subsequent sets 25-21, 25-22 and 25-20 to seal a historical win.

Meanwhile, Nemostars cruised through their opening match with a dominant 3-0 victory over Egypt’s Petrojet.
They won their sets 25-20, 25-22 and 25-23.
The two Ugandan sides are eyeing places in the top of four of their respective groups to qualify for the knockout stage.

Elsewhere on Day Two:
Home teams Kepler and Police dominated their matches, with Police sweeping Tanzania Prisons and Kepler defeating AS Injis from Côte d’Ivoire.
Rwanda Energy Group (REG) faced a tough defeat against Port Autonome de Douala from Cameroon.
Kenya’s General Service Unit also triumphed, winning 3-0 against Atletico from Cape Verde. However, Kenya Ports Authority lost to Moroccan side FUS Rabat, despite leveling the match at 1-1.
One of the day’s highlights was Ghana’s Kaliba Sporting Club narrowly defeating Burundi’s Rukinzo 3-2, with Kaliba edging the decisive set 15-13. Ghana Army also triumphed 3-0 over Ethiopia’s Wolaita.
In other matches, Egyptian giants Al Ahly swept Cameroon Sports 3-0, and Litto Team of Cameroon defeated Nigeria Customs 3-1 in a West African derby.
