Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have signed Nigerian centre-back Princewill Biweribo Tarabina on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 23-year-old joins the Venoms from Nigerian Premier Football League side Plateau United, where he made 20 league appearances last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Tarabina previously spent four seasons at Bayelsa United and brings top-flight experience to Vipers’ defence.

Vipers head coach Denis Lavagne welcomed the signing, saying Tarabina will benefit from working alongside the club’s experienced centre-backs.

“I’m pleased that we have been able to add to our squad with the arrival of Princewill. He is a young talent who has experience at a high level,” Lavagne said.

Tarabina said he is eager to begin work with his new teammates and help Vipers defend their league title.

“I am very happy to be part of the Vipers Sports Club family. I know Vipers is a great club in Uganda and they were League champions last season, so we have to defend the title,” he said.

The 1.86-metre defender becomes Vipers’ latest signing as the club strengthens its squad for the Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup and CAF Champions League campaigns.

He joins recent recruits including Loyce Mbaba, Nicholas Mwere, Jacques Mangoba, Joel Sserunjongi and Farouk Miya, while Cesar Manzoki has also returned to the club.
